1: Bhagat Singh: A Martyr for India’s Freedom

  • Early Life: Born in Lyallpur on September 27, 1907. Influenced by family’s patriotism and Ghadar Movement.
  • Education and Nationalism: Studied at Dayanand Anglo-Vedic School and National College in Lahore. Rejected government-aided schools and marriage plans for India’s freedom.
  • Associations: Member of Hindustan Republican Association and Naujawan Bharat Sabha.
  • Legislative Assembly Bombing: Threw a bomb in Central Legislative Assembly on April 8, 1929, to protest oppressive Bills.
  • Lahore Conspiracy Case: Arrested and sentenced to death for Saunders’ murder. Hanged on March 23, 1931, along with Rajguru and Sukhdev.
  • Legacy: Embraced death fearlessly, chanting “Inquilab Zindabad.” Honored with the title “Shahid-e-Azam” (Greatest Martyr). Iconic song “Mera Rang De Basanti Chola.”

 

 

2: Jivitputrika Vrat (Jitiya Vrat) Festival

  • Significance: Dedicated to children’s well-being and prosperity. Observed by mothers fasting and taking a holy dip.
  • Region: Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Nepal (primarily)
  • Duration: 3 days (7th-9th lunar day of Krishna-Paksha in Ashvin month)
  • Celebration:
    • Day 1 (Nahai-Khai): Purifying bath and nourishing meal for mothers.
    • Day 2: Strict fasting ritual.
    • Day 3 (Paaran): Breaking the fast with a meal.

Tragedy: Around 46 people drowned during the festival in 2024, highlighting safety concerns.

 

 

3: India Elected to GlobE Steering Committee

  • GlobE Network: Global platform for anti-corruption law enforcement authorities, launched in 2021.
  • Membership: 121 member countries, 219 member authorities.
  • Objective: Sharing criminal intelligence, developing strategies, and combating corruption.
  • Governance: Steering Committee with one chair, one vice-chair, and 13 members.
  • India’s Role: Central authority for GloBE Network, with CBI and ED as member authorities.
  • Key Achievements: Adopted two high-level principles for combating corruption during India’s G-20 Presidency.

 

 

4: Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA)

Overview

  • Purpose: Collaborative platform for academia, industry, and government to create a comprehensive 6G ecosystem in India.
  • Focus Areas: Research, development, and standardization of 6G technology.

Recent Developments

  • High-Level Meeting: B6GA presented detailed action plans for 6G development in Bengaluru.

Bharat 6G Vision

  • Unveiling: Launched by PM Narendra Modi in 2023.
  • Goals: Aim to position India as a global leader in 6G design, development, and implementation by 2030.
  • Core Principles:
    • Affordability: Ensure cost-effective solutions.
    • Sustainability: Promote environmentally friendly practices.
    • Ubiquity: Aim for widespread access and connectivity.
