Role: Oversees urban housing and development policies in India.
Challenges: Rapid urbanization, improving services, reducing poverty, and controlling slums.

- Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U):Provides pucca housing to EWS & LIG till Dec 2024.
- Smart Cities Mission:Comprehensive urban development across 100 cities.

- Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act (RERA):Regulates the real estate sector and protects home buyers.
- PM Street Vendor’s Atma Nirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi):Provides loans to street vendors for working capital.
- National Mission on Sustainable Habitat (NMSH):Promotes low-carbon urban development and climate resilience.
- Urban Transport Initiatives:Focuses on mass transit systems (Metro) and public transport.
- Central Vista Redevelopment:Enhances government infrastructure in Delhi.
- Pradhan Mantri-Unauthorized Colonies in Delhi Awas Adhikar Yojana (PMUDAY):Confers ownership rights to residents of unauthorized colonies in Delhi.
