Tribal Development Initiatives

  • Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana (VKY):Aims for holistic development of tribal people.
    • Focuses on outcome-based approach and efficient delivery of benefits from various government schemes.
    • Creates an enabling environment for need-based interventions.

Financial Inclusion for Marginalized Communities

  • Vanchit Ikai Samooh aur Vargo ki Arthik Sahayata Yojana (VISVAS Yojana):(formerly Interest Subvention Scheme)
    • Provides interest subvention on loans for SC & OBC communities.
    • Targets over 3.5 lakh beneficiaries.
    • Offers loans up to ₹4 lakh for SHGs (5% interest) and ₹2 lakh for individuals (5% interest).

Rural Infrastructure Development

  • Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakaram (PMJVK):(formerly Multi-Sectoral Development Programme)
    • Centrally sponsored scheme for infrastructure and basic amenities development.
    • Implemented in all districts since FY 2022-23.
    • Focuses on education, health, skill development, and women’s empowerment.
    • Examples of projects: schools, classrooms, hostels, computer labs, toilets, drinking water facilities, etc.
    • Cost-sharing between center and states/UTs.
    • Land and maintenance expenses borne by states/UTs.
    • Community ownership and utilization of created assets.

Aadhaar Enrolment for Children under Six

  • UIDAI now allows Aadhaar enrolment for children below five years.
    • WCD departments of states/UTs encouraged to become registrars.
    • Anganwadi centers seen as suitable locations for enrolment due to easy accessibility.
